Loch Lomond’s Finest Local Shortbread at Luss General Store

With the picnic season in full swing here in Luss, we’d like to introduce you to our favourite local baker who satisfies all of our sweet tooth cravings - Chrystal’s of Loch Lomond!

Nestled in a small bakery in Argyll and Bute, husband and wife duo Rory and Chrystal Mackinlay have worked tirelessly for years perfecting their ancient family recipe.

Their craft stays true to the rustic traditions of shortbread baking, with Chrystal hand-cutting and scoring each individual tray-bake the way it has been done in her family for centuries.

Chrystal’s shortbread is sweet and buttery with a luxurious, crumbly texture that melts in your mouth. It’s authentic and traditional finish is what makes it the perfect addition to our produce here at Luss General Store. 

We are also delighted to stock a unique beautifully crafted tin which features an exclusive commissioned artwork of Luss Pier by Daniel Campbell. This bespoke packaging can only be bought at Luss General Store.
