Bowtie in Dress Gordon Tartan
Made of pure wool in a light weight tartan (Reiver 10 oz. fabric) by Lochcarron of Scotland. With a heritage dating back to 1892, Lochcarron of Scotland is the world’s leading manufacturer of tartan. Proudly made in Scotland by skilled craftsmen and women who design, dye, warp, weave, mend and tailor traditional Scottish tartans and textiles.
The neck strap fastens at the side with a latch and is fully adjustable. It is ideal to wear with matching kilt or trews for a formal event like a wedding. It could also be worn with a matching Cummerbund and black tuxedo or with a tartan waistcoat.
The Clan Gordon, also known as the House of Gordon, is a Scottish clan. The chief of the clan was the powerful Earl of Huntly, and now also the Marquess of Huntly.
The first Gordon on record is Richard de Gordon, said to have been the grandson of a famous knight who slew some monstrous animal in the Merse during the time of King Malcolm III of Scotland. This Richard was Lord of the Barony of Gordon in the Merse. Richard de Gordon probably died in around 1200.
