Black Watch Tartan Lambswool Scarf
A wonderfully soft pure lambswool scarf from Scottish wool experts Johnston's of Elgin. The Black Watch Tartan is named for the famous 42nd Royal Highland Regiment, also known as The Black Watch. The regiment was first raised in 1729, as four Independent Companies of Highlanders to patrol and keep the peace within the Highlands. Their size was increased in 1739 and the companies formed into a regiment. The tartan is claimed to be of Campbell origin.
The Elgin Mill was established by Alexander Johnston on the banks of the River Lossie over two hundred years ago. Each and every product created by Johnston's of Elgin reflects this tradition and expertise through outstanding craftsmanship and the highest quality natural fibres.
