Jack Marris Photography

Sunset over Loch Maree & Siloch Mounted Print

£30

Jack Marris moved to Applecross in 2012 after extensively travelling across Scotland in search of dramatic landscapes to photograph. He fell in love with the northwest Highlands, and Applecross embodied everything he was seeking for photographic inspiration, making it the perfect location to launch his professional photography career.

Most of the images Jack captures are meticulously planned to take advantage of seasonal light and weather & are often several years in the making. Many of his photographs require camping overnight on mountain summits and ridges, in all seasons, making careful planning an essential part of his creative process.

This is the view from the cliffs on the side of Meall a' Ghiubhais, meaning "Hill of the Pine Tree", a fairly small hill (classed as a Corbett) overlooking Loch Maree, and across to Slioch - a popular and impressive Munro.  This picture was taken at sunset and you can see the warmth of the setting sun as it bathes the mountain in light, contrasting with the foreground in the coolness of the shade. This canvas would work well in rooms that lend themselves to rich purples, blues, and cooler grey tones.

Dimensions approx (in mount) :  Length 24cm x Height 21cm

The print comes with wall fixings so it can be hung on a wall without the need for a frame & is wrapped in protective cellophane.

All prints are professionally mounted in-house at Jack's gallery with care & attention to detail.
